Module 1

About Thrive Tallow

Thrive Tallow is an Australian family-owned business founded by husband and wife Aaron and Sarah.

Our philosophy is simple: create genuinely effective skincare using traditional, nutrient-rich ingredients that work with the skin rather than against it. Everything is proudly made in Australia using grass-fed and finished Australian beef tallow.

The core idea to remember: we don't believe more ingredients are better. We believe better ingredients are better.
  • Natural ingredients
  • Minimal formulations
  • Australian made
  • Grass-fed & finished Australian beef tallow
  • Effective products without unnecessary fillers

Module 2

Why Beef Tallow?

This is one of the most common customer questions — so it's worth knowing the answer well.

Beef tallow is incredibly skin compatible because it is:

  • Rich in vitamins A, D, E & K
  • Naturally abundant in skin-loving fatty acids
  • Closely resembles the oils naturally produced by our skin (human sebum)
  • Helps keep skin feeling moisturised and comfortable
  • Moisturising without relying on large amounts of water or fillers
  • Traditionally used in skincare for generations

Customers often notice:

  • Softer skin
  • Less dryness
  • Skin that feels more comfortable and nourished

Module 3

Thrive Natural Deodorants

How are they different?

Unlike traditional antiperspirants, Thrive deodorants don't try to stop your body from sweating. Sweating is a completely normal and important body function. Instead, our deodorants are designed to help control the bacteria responsible for body odour, allowing your body to sweat naturally while helping you stay fresh.

What causes body odour?

A common misconception is that sweat smells. In reality, fresh sweat has very little odour. Body odour develops when naturally occurring bacteria on the skin break down sweat. Our deodorants help create an environment where odour-causing bacteria are less likely to thrive.

Why customers love Thrive deodorants

Many natural deodorants rely heavily on powders or waxes, which can feel dry, drag on the skin or leave residue. Thrive takes a different approach by using Australian grass-fed tallow as the foundation of the formula.

This creates a deodorant that is:

  • Smooth to apply
  • Comfortable on the skin
  • Nourishing for the underarms
  • Less drying than many traditional natural deodorants

Combined with magnesium hydroxide and zinc ricinoleate to help combat body odour naturally, it delivers effective odour protection while caring for the skin.

Key ingredients

Grass-Fed Beef Tallow

Provides skin nourishment, moisturisation and smooth application. Helps keep underarms comfortable, including after shaving.

Magnesium Hydroxide

One of the key odour-fighting ingredients. Helps create an environment where odour-causing bacteria are less likely to thrive. Unlike baking soda, it's generally considered gentler on sensitive skin.

Zinc Ricinoleate

A premium natural deodorising ingredient. Rather than masking odours with fragrance, it binds to odour molecules to help neutralise them — a big reason customers find it effective throughout the day.

Castor Wax

Provides firmness and stability. Helps the stick glide smoothly while maintaining its shape.

Jojoba Oil

Helps moisturise the skin, supports smooth application, and leaves underarms feeling comfortable.

A common problem we solve: bicarb sensitivity

A lot of natural deodorants on the market rely on bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) as their main odour-fighting ingredient. It's effective for some people, but bicarb is also a very common cause of skin reactions — redness, itching, stinging and rashes are frequently reported, especially with daily use.

Thrive deodorants don't use bicarb at all. Instead, we use magnesium hydroxide and zinc ricinoleate, which control odour just as effectively — many customers find them even more effective — while causing far fewer skin reactions.

Great line to use: "If you've tried a natural deodorant before and reacted to it, it was very likely the bicarb. Ours doesn't use it, so most people who've had that problem find they can use Thrive without any issue." Still worth suggesting a patch test for anyone with known sensitivities, as with any new product.
Will it stop sweating? No. Thrive is not an antiperspirant. Customers will still sweat naturally — it's designed to help minimise body odour while allowing the body's natural sweating process to continue.

Transition period

Some people notice a short adjustment period when switching from conventional antiperspirants. During this time they may:

  • Sweat more than they're used to
  • Notice temporary changes in body odour
  • Feel like they need to reapply more often

This doesn't happen to everyone, but it can be a normal part of switching to a deodorant that doesn't block sweat, and usually settles with continued use.

Who is it suitable for?

  • Everyday use
  • Customers looking for a natural deodorant
  • Those wanting an aluminium-free option
  • Sensitive underarms
  • Post-shaving comfort

How to apply

Apply a few swipes to clean, dry underarms. Only a small amount is needed.

Scents

Two scents to choose from — there isn't a separate "Buddha Wood" deodorant, that's simply an early/informal name for the same scent. The official name is Vanilla Wood.

Vanilla Wood

Warm · Earthy · Grounding · Sophisticated

A beautiful blend of creamy vanilla with soft, woody, grounding notes. Perfect for customers who enjoy warmer, richer, more natural fragrances.

Sweet Citrus

Fresh · Bright · Uplifting

A naturally citrusy fragrance that feels clean and refreshing. Perfect for everyday wear.

Module 5

Common Questions You'll Get Asked

"Does it smell like beef?"
No. The finished products do not smell like beef — the essential oils create the finished fragrance profile.
"Is the tallow Australian?"
Yes. All Thrive products are made using grass-fed and finished Australian beef tallow.
"Is it greasy?"
No. The deodorant glides on smoothly and absorbs comfortably. The soaps rinse clean while helping skin feel soft and nourished.
"Can men use it?"
Absolutely. All products are designed to be enjoyed by anyone.
"Is it vegan?"
No. Beef tallow is an animal-derived ingredient.
"I've reacted to natural deodorant before — will this one do the same?"
Most reactions to natural deodorant come from bicarbonate of soda, which is a very common ingredient in other brands. Thrive doesn't use bicarb at all — we use magnesium hydroxide and zinc ricinoleate instead, which work just as well (many customers find them even more effective) while causing far fewer skin reactions. It's still worth suggesting a patch test for anyone with known sensitivities.

Staff tips

  • Avoid saying the deodorant "kills bacteria" or "detoxes the body." Instead, explain that it helps create an environment where odour-causing bacteria are less likely to thrive.
  • Don't promise results for conditions such as eczema, acne or dermatitis. Instead, explain that the products are formulated to be gentle and many customers with sensitive skin enjoy using them.
  • Explain that natural deodorants may involve a short adjustment period for some people when switching from conventional antiperspirants.
  • Focus on helping customers choose the product that best suits their skin type, lifestyle and fragrance preference.
